Black Forest Cupcakes

Black Forrest Cupcake. German chocolate cake with pastry cream and preserved cherries in the centre, topped with a dark chocolate frosting and garnished with a personalized sugar cookie and a maraschino cherry.

I made these cupcakes for my mum’s birthday this past weekend. Black Forrest cake is her favourite and is her choice every year, so this year I thought I would put a twist on the traditional cake she usually gets. These were a huge hit and my mum loved them! The cupcake size was perfect as it is a rich recipe and you wouldn’t want more than one.
